Birthday Time!

We had a joint party for the kids last Saturday. Bradford will be 3 on Sept 7 and Carley will be 1 on Aug 31. We rented "The Tiger" for the kids to bounce in and it was BIG HIT! Bradford was SO excited watching it inflate and he and his friends bounced forever.

Carley got in for a little while with me but it was really hot outside and she prefered to play with the balloons in the airconditioning! Girl after my own heart!!

Birthday Cakes

Bradford's cake HAD to be Thomas the Train. He wanted to eat his name so we gave him the toy part with his name on it and he licked it off.
Carley's cake had to be Ariel because of the red hair!! :)

She wasn't crazy about eating her cake and she really didn't like her hands all messy. Typical 1 year old!
My birthday babies!! Boy time flies!

Birthday gifts

Carley enjoyed the balloons more than any present she got!
Her crown says "Birthday Princess"
Aunt Mandy is on the bad list now! She got Bradford a drum and he plays it ALL THE TIME and DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! We still love you "Aunt MaeMae"

Playing in Mommy's flowers. They wouldn't stop picking flowers long enough for me to get a good shot of them.
She has taken several steps on her own but prefers to crawl. Bradford tries to help her.
My little musicians :)
Uncle Nathan brought his motorcycle to WV and the kids loved it.
Bradford loves for Carley to "sleep with him". She just stays in there while we read stories and say prayers. He calls her a "squirmy wormy" because she won't lay still.
She can play in the grass forever and usually she won't put it in her mouth. She just likes to pull it apart.
Making a big mess!
This was my dress when I was a baby.

At a friend's wedding

Bradford stayed with MawMaw and PawPaw. Carley was the center of attention as usual with that red hair!
She LOVES pickles! Looks like she is about to break out in song!

A few short trips this summer

Our new summer home...I WISH! J.B. and I took a few days off and went to see the Biltmore and had a spa day!! So fun!
At the boathouse on the Biltmore property
We took the kids to the zoo in Asheboro, NC. Bradford loved it and was SO exhausted at the end. Carley was just along for the ride. Nana and Uncle Nathan came along too!

Summer 2007

J.B. was at youth camps for 2 weeks. We moved in with him for one of the weeks and Nana came to help with the kids while I worked during the day. The kids LOVED IT!

Super NANA!!! Yes, that is Nana upside down!!
Playing at home with the water ball. Carley just played with the wet grass which I found later in EVERY imaginable place!
They love this car! They want to ride together and Bradford is so careful to make sure Carley doesn't fall off!

Summer time

Bradford's best friend in the whole world, David (from church). They play SO WELL together!
Bradford at baseball game with youth group.
Carley at baseball game with youth group.
Swimming at MawMaw and PawPaw's house.

A few more highlights from this summer...

My little shopping helpers. Bradford is almost 3 and Carley is almost 1. We were at Lowe's...the basement is almost done!
Bradford hiding behind his train table to poop, "Mommy, I have to 'pinish', leave me along!"
Bradford getting ice cream for pooping in the potty!!!!
Carley stealing Bradford's passy and causing WWIII! Bradford finally gave up the passy last week and he is doing great! By the way, she is wearing an outfit of mine when I was her age.

Strawberry Shortcake...

What a ham! She loves playing in my jewelry...when I let her.
The grass is about to go in the mouth!
Cruising along with Bradford pushing!
Mother's Day. I was so busy getting the two of them ready that I forgot my lipstick! We took a ton of pictures and this was the best we could get. oh boy...

Never a dull moment!

This truck delivered some cabinets for the basement we are finishing and Bradford was SO excited!!! The driver was very nice and let Bradford explore inside. It was very early in the morning and he probably woke up the whole town blowing the horn!
If Carley can get close enough to touch Bradford, she attacks! She tries to get his paci, play with his hair, and pull anything she can get her hands on! He plays along if he is in a good mood.
My little helper. This is the only way he will stay with me at church or in public-he has to be pushing the stroller. So much for the double stroller!
Again...trying to get a hold on Bradford!
Mommy and Bradford at Wild, Wild WV Day (Church of God State Kids Program). Bradford loved it!

Bradford news:

He loves his bike but I think he likes his helmet more. He wore it all day-even in the house!
Yes, he can use a mouse...sorta. He still needs help but he loves to play Elmo games.
Bradford at Lee University. My former roommates and I got together for a fun weekend and Bradford had a ball with the kids!
Just a day in the life of Bradford and his "bear and pa". Some days I wonder if he will have that thing when he graduates from high school! His latest saying is, "Mommy, I think I don't want to do that." It is "I think" all day...definitely finding his independence! He tries to boss Carley around and I have found him disciplining his toys (of course, repeating what he hears from me!).
We are taking swimming lessons. The first 2 went great but he flipped out on the 3rd lesson so we are going to take a break and try again in a month or so after he has had time to "enjoy" swimming and not think of it as work. He loves the water...just not being told what to do in the water!
